So has anyone else got one of these yet? I got mine this yesterday with little trouble at all. I only had to wait in line for about 30 minutes. Was in and out of the store in about 10-15 after that.

So far I am loving it. Texting was a little strange at first but I am getting pretty quick at it. I like it much better than my old crappy flip phone for texting. The app store is pretty bad ass too. I've downloaded a bunch of free apps to play around with. I cant wait to see what other apps people come up with within the next year.

So far some noteworthy apps are:
Shazam - Music recognition software. It can identify music you are listening to like on TV or the radio and tell you what it is. It will then offer to let you buy it on iTunes or search for it on YouTube.
Pandoa - Internet Radio
AOL Radio - More Internet Radio
Facebook - Lets you set your status and send messages, not quite as nice as the MySpace one
MySpace - Pretty much gives you complete access to anything on MySpace, really impressive.
Bejeweled 2- I think we all know this one, I had an itunes gift card so I used that so I could have some sort of game to play. I knew it would be an easy one to play on the iphone.
AIM - Works pretty good, but I dont think it keeps you signed in if you close it.

I have a few more but havent messed with them too much yet.

Also has native Exchange support so I was able to check my work email. I must be slightly crazy to do this on my own phone, but whatever. Also has native gmail support so that is awesome.

Highly recommend the new iphone :D

I don't have the iPhone but I have the ipod touch and downloaded the 2.0 update so basically has the same software version as the iphone 3G.
The App store is badass... get the mlb app. It's pretty slick.

So I was forced into getting an iPhone on Friday afternoon.
The company that was taking care of my phone decided they're going to cut me off. So I go from paying 0 a month for unlimited text, data and minutes to shelling out 100 dollars a month. Blows.
But it's safe to say I will be marrying my iPhone soon. :)

When i had sprint, i was paying like 40 bucks less per month, for 5x as many minutes, faster data speeds :P but whatever, i like the phone.

Yeah the price monthly is steeeep but so far it's totally worth it. I find myself on my comp less and just getting out more since I have everything i pretty much need in my pocket now. camera, phone, facebook, myspace, email, web browser, calculator, ipod, gps. all right there. It's the price of convenience I guess.

That's hardcore. I really don't like the internet that much.

so alright... ATT customers ring on this for me.
I have 450 anytime with rollover
and 5000 night and weekends with rollover (which i just added early nights so it starts at 7)
So when my stuff starts to roll over is it just like a cache of minutes that i use up.
or are there like two caches of minutes- one for anytime...and the other for nights/weekends?

i am confused hahah

nights and weekends don't roll over. the 450 plan is the only one with 5k nights and weekends, all the rest are unlimited. and your minutes only roll over for 12 months, so whatever you acquired this month for roll over will expire next dec.

Palringo for instant messaging. Hands down the best IM client on the iphone i've found.
You can sign into just about every client. it keeps you signed in when you back out and even have the option to put an away message up when you do. I like to stay invisible when i sign on :)
You can send pictures and voice messages to people. What it does is send wahtever you are sending to the palringo servers and it sends a link to that file. It's slick.
Palringo check it out.
the weather channel app is pretty nice. It's alot more detailed than the one that comes on the phone. Loopt is another pretty cool application.
And Twinkle is another cool app

Ahh ok. Wonder why it says 5000 night and weekends with rollover.
Although I dont see myself talking over 83+ hours a month anyways haha
I couldn't justify spending another 20 for the 900 anytime minutes. When its 9 dollars to start the nights and weekends earlier and just tap into the 5000 night and weekend minutes.
Besides most of my time is spent texting anyways. I text like I am a 14 year old girl.

me 2

when i had sprint, i had a sweeet deal. 49.99 for 1250 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited data, 9.99 for unlimited text. and their network is sooo much better.

but regardless, i love my iphone. maybe someday they will release them for cdma networks.

Yeah the guy at ATT said that they signed a five year exclusive deal with apple so I don't think we'll see that anytime soon.

i think the whole exclusivity thing sucks. yeah its a big win for the carriers, but it sucks for consumers. i know a lot more people would probably use the iphone if it was carrier independent... same with some of the new blackberries and motorola phones..

i personally am not going to switch carriers to get a better phone.. :)

If you had ATT your phone would be useless at your house...

my roommate has one, but he literally goes to the 4 spots in my house that actually get coverage... otherwise my area is a deadzone for AT&T. thats why my other roommate switched over to verizon.
