That was The Port. They've now closed and the place has re-opened claiming that it's a "Real" sports bar. I haven't been back since the renovation but I hope that doesn't mean that they've bumped the shit out of the prices.

Actually my favorite place WAS the Dume Room. They've since been shut down. It was a total dive. Most of the "flys" showed up at around 3pm. One of my roommates and I stopped in one day around that time and there were 15 to 20 people already in there. You'd get all kinds of people. College students would be there and if their parents were in town they'd bring them. Tons of malibu locals came there. And every now and then you'd get a celebrity sighting. The karaoke nights were tons of fun. And all over the walls were pictures that a photographer had taken ranging in history from the 1970s to current. It was a great crowd. I REALLY miss that place.

The shittiest thing about that place was how it got shut down. It was on a strip mall kind of center and the ownership of the "mall" approached Mario, the owner, and told him that he was ruining the neighborhood and that they didn't need people like him around that area. And he was very nice to the man and asked if there might be another bar being opened in the nearby area for his patrons to go to and the guy told him no, that he would never allow a bar back on that property and that he was going to fight about any being put in on any nearby properties. Such a douche. Mario moved to the phillipines with his wife. :(
