I'm currently trying to lose 10 to 15 lbs and it seems like it's come down to getting a friend of mine who is an ex-personal trainer and nutritionist involved to set up a plan for me.
It's very restrictive and it might just kill me. Anybody else interested in getting involved? I'd like to have somebody to compare my results with to give me motivation to continue in the process. The first three weeks are insane....
Diet:
"No" list - Cheese, bread, bagels, tortillas, chips, crackers, canned soup, carrots, fruit, starches, potatoes, deli meats, soy sauce, dressings of any kind other than balsamic.
Eat lean meats such as Lean Beef, chicken, pork, eggs, protein powder mixes, and turkey
Once a day take a multi-vitamin and an alpha-omega vitamin.
Small meals should be eaten 5 times a day approximately 2-3 hours apart. Meats and veggies should be baked, broiled, or grilled. Also, protein shakes are acceptable.
Exercise: 1-3 miles of jogging or biking OR 30 minutes of jump-rope, swimming, intense mountain biking, tennis, dancing OR the equivalent cardio
This is especially challenging for me seeing as how I work on average a 10hr work day that may go as long as 18hrs. And during that work day I usually walk an average of 6 to 8 miles during which time I may be carrying heavy equipment such as tables, chairs, boxes of food product, or silverware. So usually by the time I'm done with my day I just want to pass out into bed and if I'm hungry I'll just drive through Jack in the Box or some other fast food joint to fulfill my appetite.
My friend tells me that after the first three weeks of this you'll get one meal per week (3 hr time span) that you can drink and/or eat whatever you want.
Got any takers?
I'm currently...
Weight 125lbs
Bust 35"
Waist 28.5"
Hips 40"

The vitamins won't do a darn thing for you except drain your wallet and make your pee smell funny.

Have fun, this is not a one time thing.. you have to do this the rest of your life. Not to mention your entire food intake you're doing will destroy your body in the end. By not eating these healthy things;
"No" list - Cheese, bread, bagels, tortillas, chips, crackers, canned soup, carrots, fruit, starches, potatoes, deli meats, soy sauce, dressings of any kind other than balsamic."
Your body is targeting the fat in your muscle. Yeah this is alright but few years later when you get busy your body will be storing the fat outside the muscle.. aka cheese curd legs or chunky w/e you want to call it.

It's okay... I've been blessed with cottage cheese ass since I was 12. :) And this truly was and is a life changing experience. I've found out over this short time that I had a serious addiction to fast food. My body was going through a state of detox for the first 5 days because I was REALLY emotional and had horrible headaches.
But I'm very excited now. The cravings are finally subsiding. :) And now I'm starting to crave things that are much healthier, like a tuna sandwich or a chicken breast burrito. :) Much better than the pizza hut and jack in the box that I used to crave! Oh yeah... not to mention, in less than one week now I will be able to start slowly incorporating fruits, dairy, and "good" complex sugars back into my diet. YAY!

Well good luck, the only way to do it right is to drink loads of water. A gallon a day will help take the chunk off real quick and is a good start. The problem is now days because everything has so much salt and sugar your kidneys need water to function. Problem is most people don't drink water, they pick up tea, soda which is infused with what I said above. So the fact of the matter is you basically put your kidneys into overdrive and it can't process it fast enough. So your liver has to make up for this and when this happens it would be like running two miles. You body basically goes into sleep mode and you feel like shit most of the time. My two cents.

I guess you haven't seen the recent news that your theory is a myth. We only need to consume on a daily basis what we use up. Rookie. :rolleyes:

I take it you didn't search that line yourself...
Anyways the point is drinking water serves a purpose to vital organs in your body that need water to function. I mean seriously, think about this.. let me break it down...
So you don't drink water but instead you drink soda, you BBQ a steak nice and rare, use A1 Sauce and sprinkle salt on it... now your body contains 4Fe(s) 4FE is salt... salt doesn't break down easy I can tell you that and consuming it basically becomes a liquid chemical that your body can't process and turns it to fat. Most people on diets say oh I'll drink diet soda, well that drink is basically more salt... ooohkay now this is where water comes into play;
4Fe+H2O+O2 (g)=4FEh20*02
Basically water with oxygen in the blood stream will break this down freaking quick, thus not allowing the body to store it. Water doesn't break down just salt, hydrates your muscles (like oil in a chevelle), sugar, dyes, thc smoke.. w/e it speeds the process up and you piss it out. Yes water is a chemical that rocks..
My two cents.

Neither of us are Medical Doctors so let's just leave it at that. I have a rebuttal to your nonsense but I'm too lazy to type out. Meh.

Are you trying to imply that you're a medical doctor? Because your implication implied that one of us is. I know I'm not which leaves you. Are you?

Week three done! Not much more of a change. Still 117lbs, bust-33", waist 28", and hips down to 38.5". Next step is the abs and minimizing the cellulite in addition to still trying to whittle down the body fat percentage. I'm in the average range for women at 31.5% but it IS on the higher end. I'd like to try and get down to the ideal area which starts at 24.5%. This is going to be especially hard considering that I'm going on vacation for a week starting Saturday!
Oh yeah... slow incorporation back of dairy, fruits and whole grains begins tomorrow.

Never implied it, point is you don't know me and judging how you act on here you never will. I was just giving a suggestion to kritn, whether she takes it is really up to her.

I know I am a little late with this post, but I wish I could have been in on it as it was happening. Anyways, if you want to lose weight then it's not going to happen by drinking more water. Yes you should drink lots of water throughout the day because it basically keeps your body clean, and it helps transport proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins...etc... into your bloodstream to distribute to your muscles, and organs. But the best way to lose weight is to eat good clean healthy foods, portioned out, every 2 1/2 to 3 hours throughout the day. That means you will end up eating about 6 times a day, which results in your body not having time to store fat because you are constantly putting clean energy into it, thus keeping your metabolism up. So you're looking at possibly Breakfast at 7, a snack at 9:30, lunch at Noon, another snack at 3, dinner at 5:30, and a final protein shake or other supplement around 8 or so. It sounds crazy but it works. Dieting alone isn't enough, you need to exercise on a regular basis, at least 45 min a day, and I would recommend a combination of aerobic and light weight lifting. Making your muscles sore means that you are tearing muscle fibers, and in the process of repairing those muscle fibers you actually burn fat for up to 3 days, which is 3 days longer than running on a treadmill. Putting all these together is hard to do, but when you do it is an undefeated method. :D

Well... my weight seems to be holding at 115. This is based on my non-processed, healthy diet and exercise. And of course drinking the appropriate amount of water. Lost the 10lbs I was looking for. :) Now it's time to firm up! :)
